Summer Get-together

I think the image (in the orange box) says everything that needs to be said. Except, of course, if I can humbly mention that my Series isn't a 2a - it's just a 2! Nice get-together, and thanks go to Robin for organizing everything.

1962 Update

Last week, went over to friend Tony's to help him and his brother in law, Paul, put the engine into Tony's 1962 SWB. A nice milestone for the project, and a good looking project it is. We almost had the gearbox in, but ran out of time.  Coming along nicely.

(Type '1962' into the blog's search bar above to see previous project images.)

The long-awaited hoisting of the engine underway:

It's in! Engine flywheel housing temporarily sitting on a piece of plywood while it waits for the gearbox:

Engine finally where an engine should be. Looking good.

UPDATE 2022-04-26: The transmission is now installed.

Still Going Strong

For some reason known only to my phone, it took some pics in black and white today (I suspect cold weather and clumsy fingers). Windy with some blowing snow, a beautiful day to be out and about.

Autumn Visit

Went to lend a hand with friend Tony's 1962 project today, in his new location at 'Treetops'. Nice day for a 40 km drive and good to get out, especially as Covid meant a cut back on most activities this summer.

Tony's roof and tub in the background, waiting for their storage location.

Always hard not to photograph these things! Tony snaps a pic.

... and Tony's pic!

Happy Birthday!

A little portrait taken this morning, to celebrate the fact that Land Rover is 60 years old today. Quite the run. I hope it's still giving as much pleasure 60 years from now.

A little lunchtime drive to enjoy the winter wonderland today.
